Edward Elgar wrote his musical postcard In the South (Alassio) during a family holiday in Italy in the early 1900s, and was inspired by the historic beauty of his visit to the Province of Savona. Here, acclaimed Italian conductor Riccardo Muti leads the La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra in this unique work, alongside Brahms’ luscious Serenade No. 1 in D Major.
