What kinds of recordings does the Symphony Store sell?

We offer studio and live recordings of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, featuring its music directors along with notable guest conductors, soloists and the Chicago Symphony Chorus. Most recent titles are on the orchestra's own label, CSO Resound. Classic and reissued releases include recordings on Decca, Deutsche Grammophon, RCA, Sony and other major labels.

What formats are available?

Recordings are sold as CDs, SACDs (Super Audio CDs) and digital downloads, with select titles also available on video. The formats offered for each release are listed on its product page.

What audio quality are the digital downloads?

Digital downloads are provided as MP3 files (typically 320 kbps). Many titles also offer a hi-res FLAC option, with bitrates that vary by recording. The exact format for each title is listed in the Specifications tab on its product page.

Who performs on these recordings?

Most recordings feature the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Many also include the Chicago Symphony Chorus, guest conductors and featured soloists. The performers on each title are listed on its product page.

When were these recordings made?

Our catalog spans historic performances from the 1930s and 1940s through current-season releases. Each product page lists the recording year and venue.

Do you ship recordings internationally?

Yes. We ship worldwide.

Do CSO subscribers and donors receive a discount?

Yes. Current-season subscribers and annual donors of $200 or more are eligible for a 15% discount at the Symphony Store. Eligibility is verified at checkout. For assistance applying your discount, contact symphonystore@cso.org.

What is your return policy?

Unused, unopened merchandise in its original condition may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of delivery. Gift recipients are eligible for exchange or store credit only. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable, except where required by law. Proof of purchase is required for all returns and exchanges. Certain items may be final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange, including digital products, downloadable products, gift cards, personalized or custom items, and any sealed audio, video or software product that has been opened. Additional exclusions may apply where noted on the product page or at the time of purchase.
