Prophecy showcases accordion virtuoso Ksenija Sidorova with the Estonian Festival Orchestra under Paavo Järvi in a program celebrating the contemporary music of the Baltic region. Released on Alpha Classics, the album features concertante works by Erkki-Sven Tüür, Tõnu Kõrvits and Pēteris Vasks, highlighting the accordion in bold and unexpected symphonic settings.

At the center is Tüür’s Prophecy, a gripping concerto exploring the figure of the seer — one who foresees the future yet is often rejected by society. Kõrvits’s Dances, written for Sidorova and premiered in Pärnu in 2024, draws fresh colors and textures from the instrument, while Vasks’s The Fruit of Silence offers a meditative close. Brilliantly played and vividly recorded, Prophecy presents the accordion as both virtuoso soloist and expressive storyteller.
