Järvi made something fresher, bolder and more exciting of this music than I have heard in years. Seldom have the catacombs echoed so sonorously, the ox-cart trundled so heavily of the unhatched chicks dances so wittily. All this, and Adolph Herseth’s peerless trumpet, too.
