The Blacknificent 7 is a dynamic network of trailblazing Black composers committed to promoting and serving the next generation of underrepresented composers. The collective consists of Emmy Award-winning composer and vocalist Jasmine Barnes, composer and bass-baritone Damien Geter, Grammy Award-winning CSO Mead Composer-in-Residence Jessie Montgomery, composer and educator Shawn Okpebholo, Emmy-nominated composer Dave Ragland, Grammy-nominated Composer-in-Residence of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Carlos Simon and Emmy Award-winning composer Joel Thompson. Their works have been performed by prestigious ensembles around the world, and they continue to be in high demand for new commissions and performances. The group presented their first-ever joint concert at Orchestra Hall in December 2023 as part of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s MusicNOW series, which is curated by Montgomery, and was met with critical acclaim. Is Symphony Store apparel officially licensed by the CSO?

Yes. All apparel sold by the Symphony Store is officially licensed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association. The Symphony Store is the Orchestra’s official merchandise destination.
What sizes are available?

Available sizes vary by style and are listed on each product page. Most adult T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies are available in sizes S-2XL, with 3XL-5XL offered on select print-to-order styles. Select kids’ T-shirts are available in Youth S-Youth XL.
How do I find the right size?

What materials and fabrics are used?

Fabric content varies by style and is listed on each product page. Most T-shirts are 100% cotton, while most sweatshirts and hoodies are made from a cotton-polyester blend. Other apparel and accessories may use different materials depending on the item.
Do CSO subscribers and donors receive a discount?

Yes. Current-season subscribers and annual donors of $200 or more are eligible for a 15% discount at the Symphony Store. Eligibility is verified at checkout. For assistance applying your discount, contact symphonystore@cso.org.
How long does shipping take, and do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship internationally. Orders are typically fulfilled within 1-3 business days. Once shipped, delivery usually takes 3-5 business days within the continental United States and 5-12 business days for international orders. Exact delivery estimates are shown at checkout based on your shipping address.
Can apparel be returned or exchanged?

Unused, unopened merchandise in its original condition may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of delivery. Gift recipients are eligible for exchange or store credit only. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable, except where required by law. Proof of purchase is required for all returns and exchanges.
